Lenovo had been teasing the launch of its P2 smartphone in India for quite some time, and today the company has finally announced it for the Indian market. The Lenovo P2 is made official in 3GB RAM/4GB RAM variants, priced at Rs. 16,999 and Rs. 17,999 respectively. It will exclusively go on sale via Flipkart starting from midnight.
The most advertised feature of the Lenovo P2 smartphone is its massive 5100mAh battery, which is claimed by the company to last up to three consecutive days on a single charge thanks to 24W quick charge technology. The phone was first showcased at the IFA 2016, and it comes with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED full HD display. Powering the Lenovo P2 is a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. The device has 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB through a microSD card. Regarding design and outlook, the phone has a plastic rear panel with metal framing on sides.
In terms of software, the Lenovo P2 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It sports a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, 4K video recording, f/2.0 aperture, along with a 5MP front-facing camera. A fingerprint scanner is also part of the package, embedded into the Home button. For connectivity needs, the Lenovo P2 supports Hybrid Dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, and TI Amplifier. Also, the device can be doubled as a power bank to charge other devices.
Similar to other recently launched Lenovo phones, the Lenovo P2 smartphone also comes equipped with the TheatreMax technology for better VR experience. The phone will be facing some competition in India from Asus ZenFone Max in India.
