The smartphone should have been released by “summer”
Many Windows Phone fans had been pretty excited when HP announced plans to launch a flagship smartphone powered by Windows 10 Mobile. The Elite X3 was supposed to ship by “summer” according to HP, but while we're still one month away from the end of the deadline, it does not seem that the phablet will go on sale until June.
According to a new report coming from MSPU, HP Elite X3 is going to be launched in June. The information comes from Croatia, as the local HP branch is “90% certain” that the smartphone will not be available for purchase until June.
Of course, there's a chance that HP Elite X3 might hit shelves slightly earlier in other countries, but at the moment, the only information we have is that the phablet will be available in June.
On top of that, HP will not include any other accessories like the docking cradle and laptop dock in the sale package. The Elite X3 has been confirmed to cost $600 outright, and both accessories mentioned earlier must be purchased separately.
Perhaps some interesting offers for those who pre-order the HP Elite X3 will be available a few weeks before the smartphone go on sale, but we don't have any confirmation on that.
The Elite X3 might be launched six months after it was officially unveiled
If you're anxious to replace your old Nokia Lumia 1520, here is what you'll get if you decide to go for HP Elite X3. First of all, the smartphone will ship with the latest Windows 10 Mobile operating system.
Hardware-wise, the flagship comes equipped with a 64-bit 2.15GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit and 4GB of RAM.
The phablet boasts a huge 5.96-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating.
Also, it packs 64GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 2TB). HP Elite X3 features 2 Stereo speakers and a massive 4,150 mAh non-removable battery.
At the back, the handset features an impressive 16-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 8-megapixel camera for video calls and selfie.
Wireless charging is available as well, along with various connectivity options like 4G LTE, USB Type-C, NFC (Near Field Communication) and GPS with AGPS. The Elite X3 also comes with dual biometrics with Iris recognition and fingerprint reader.
