Samsung Galaxy C5 Receives Clearance from the FCC and TENAA

Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 should release on May 26

Samsung is just days away from releasing its latest smartphones in the mid-series Galaxy C series and recent leaks show that Samsung applied for FCC and TENAA certification for the Galaxy C5. The new Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 will be released on May 26 during a special event held in China.

Days after receiving certification from TENAA, the Chinese telecommunications equipment certification center, Samsung’s Galaxy C5 also received a green light from the FCC. The device carrying the model number SM-C5000 will be unveiled on May 26, during the same event in which Galaxy C7 will also be released.

Still, the FCC documentation confirmed some previous rumors on the upcoming Galaxy C5, mainly that it will come with a 2600 mAh battery, 5.2-inch AMOLED screen carrying a display of 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution (FHD). The rear camera will be either 16MP or 8MP, while the selfie snapper should have 8MP.

Only a few days are left until the unveiling

The Galaxy C5 should come with a Snapdragon 617 chipset and contain an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.5GHz, as well as Adreno 405 graphics processing unit. It should incorporate 4GB of RAM, together with 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.

Additional storage of up to 128GB can be obtained with a microSD card. The device is expected to come with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box and include multiple connectivity options like 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, Bluetooth, USB and GPS. The Galaxy C5 should weight 153 grams and the phone is expected to be 6.7mm thin.

In addition, images of the upcoming Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 leaked online a few days ago, revealing the design of the upcoming smartphones, which is quite similar to the HTC One. Only a few days are left until the devices will see the light of day, but rumors suggest that prices could start at $335 (€299) for the Galaxy C5 and $400 (€357) for the Galaxy C7.
