As we are getting closer to the release date of the highly-anticipated terminal we are starting to get a clearer picture of what it will bring to the table. Late November, the rumor mill suggested that after a sabbatical year the microSD slot will return to Samsung’s flagships. Then we heard that the South Koreans are only planning minor design changes for the Galaxy S7 and even got to see some alleged CAD renders. Least, but not last, it was reported that the yet unannounced smartphone will feature a pressure-sensitive display just like Apple’s latest iPhones.

Without a doubt, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will have the latest and greatest hardware underneath the hood, with reports even saying that the South Koreans will have exclusive rights for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset until April 2016. However, sources from China inform that the next-gen Samsung flagship will be about software.

If the rumors are to be believed, Google engineers are helping Samsung to optimize and reform TouchWiz. The 2015 version of TouchWiz has seen significant improvements as Samsung tried to get closer to Google’s Vanilla Android. It appears that what Google and Samsung are aiming for is optimization levels capable of rivaling Apple’s iOS.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to verify the veracity of the report so it’s advisable to take it with a pinch of salt. After all, nothing is official until Samsung says so.

What are your expectations from Samsung’s new TouchWiz skin? Are you a fan of Vanilla Android or do you like Samsung’s feature-packed interface more? Feel free to let us know in comments.
