Manufacturers are trying everything to increase profit, and in a smartphone market, that has become very hard. One of the ways to reduce costs is to use your own components and that is what Xiaomi is reportedly thinking. The company is allegedly consider building its own CPU
Nothing has been confirmed, so we can't comment whether or not this is true. If it becomes legit, we can't wait to see the CPU in action, although we guess you won't see it before 2017 or 2018.
On the other hand, Intel is trying to lure Xiaomi in using its own CPUs for the upcoming notebook. To do that, for every notebook processor Xiaomi purchases, Intel is giving away a free tablet processor. This will also help Intel to quickly expand into China's market.
