A couple of days ago, we told you that Chinese regulatory agency TENAA had certified the Xiaomi Mi Max. This is a huge phablet carrying a 6.44-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920.

The Snapdragon 650 chipset is under the hood carrying a hexa-core 1.4GHz CPU, and the Adreno 510 GPU. Two different variants of the device will be available. One features 2GB of RAM with 16GB of native storage, and the other houses a combination carrying 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage.

The camera combo from back to front weighs in at 16MP/5MP, and there is a fingerprint scanner under the rear camera. A 4000mAh battery is on board, and Android 6.0.1 is pre-installed along with MIUI 8. The price of the base model is rumored to be the equivalent of $200 USD. That is possible thanks to the use of the Snapdragon 650 chipset, and by staying clear of the RAM race..

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has used his Weibo page recently to show off photos of the Mi Max and the now delayed Xiaomi Mi Band 2. Today, the executive posted three new photos of the Mi Max, which you can find by clicking on the slideshow. The phablet is expected tosee the light of day this coming Tuesday, May 10th, during an event being held by Xiaomi.
