Marshmallow is hitting the unlocked version of the Galaxy Note Edge sold in European markets

Samsung is steadily trickling out updates for its vast collection of smartphones and tablets. Following obvious candidates like the Galaxy S6 and other recent flagships, the Korean manufacturer is now giving the gift of Marshmallow to mid-rangers like the Galaxy A9 and niche devices like the Note Edge.
The Note Edge opened the road for Samsung’s successful curved screen endeavor. The device was released in fall 2014, alongside the Galaxy Note 4, which received its own Marshmallow update a few weeks ago.
Now Marshmallow is hitting the unlocked version of the Galaxy Note Edge sold in European markets. As per Italy’s HDBlog, the update is 1.5GB in size and brings the firmware number to N915FYXXU1DPE1. We don’t know yet what kind of changes the update brings, but at the very least expect a visual makeover to match the Note 5. Features like Doze mode, Google Now on Tap, and Marshmallow’s new permission model will be part of update.
As always, you can check for yourself if the update is available via Settings>About phone, or by connecting your Note Edge to Samsung’s PC companion.
