adds two new chapters, each with 40 levels
Even though the Angry Birds movie was released just this past May, the game seems like it was from another era. In fact, it was six years ago this month that Angry Birds was made available for Android devices. You know the rest. Rovio's creation spawned a theme park in China, and the image of the Birds could be found on countless products from adhesive strips (Band Aids), lunch boxes, games, clothing and toys. Did the success get to Rovio executives' heads? You bet it did. The company said it was going to be the next Disney. Instead, it might be the next Zynga.
Rovio is trying to bring back the excitement of those halcyon days by issuing a major update to Angry Birds 2. The update comes with two new chapters, each containing 40 new levels. One new pig called Beamer has an anti-gravity ray gun, and a trio of oinkers make up the Pig Tower. The latter is designed to block your bird's attack. And if you have a half hour to kill, you can try to unlock the King Pig Panic. To do this, you have to complete some tough challenges within 30 minutes.
Will this update make the foul fowl relevant once again? No. But it does add new game play for those who continue to man the slingshot. The update is now available, and if you've already deleted the game from your device (or more likely, you've changed phones and decided not to bring the game along with your other apps) click on the appropriate link below.
